| Holidays
in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma
In the year
1886 the Dukes of Della Gherardesca have built this
stylish manor house and the present owners have
restored it recently with respect to
its history and tradition.
The
bed and breakfast Hotel “Podere Conte Gherardo”
offers its guests 12 rooms which
are furnished in an antique style
and have got a high degree of comfort – e.g.
every room offers a bathroom, hairdryer, telephone,
TV, Satellite, safe, air condition and heating.
The rooms which have a little garden are as well
equipped with garden table and chairs.
The pool
is at the disposition just for our guests and is
situated in a lavish garden with sun lounges,
Beach umbrellas and a small wooden gazebo
for the one who is seeking shade. There is a shower
next to the pool.
The area around the Podere Conte Gherardo has been
transformed into a flourishing garden full of colourful
Mediterranean plants and can be reached only by
its main gate.
Covered
private parking in the garden.
The Podere
Conte Gherado is situated in a strategically
favourable position: you can reach the sea in 5
minutes, passing through the shelter of
a beautiful pinewood.
Historical
villages such as Castagneto Carducci and
Bolgheri, which are also famous world wide
by its super Tuscans (red wine) and its olive oil,
are nearby – only 10 minutes b y
car. Famous cypress
lined avenue of Bolgheri. The tower of Castagneto.
The area offers
a wide range of activities to the guests such as:
Tennis, Horse riding, Sailing and Surfing.
The friends of biking are able to discover
just how beautiful Tuscany really is –
there are plenty of winding country roads connecting
lovely medieval villages where there is less car
traffic. Many famous cycling teams have chosen the
area of Castagneto Carducci as their training area.
“La strada
del vino nella Costa degli Etruschi” is stage
of the first race of the biking season – and
here in this hillside the world champion Paolo Bettini
grew up and has been living with its family.
Impossible
to get bored: you might visit wine-cellars or oil-mills
or might go by mountain bike or quad.
